Neshoba Unitarian Universalist Church

Next Sunday

September 7, 2014 - Sermon Topic: "Water Communion"
This Sunday, September 7th, join Neshoba Church for our multigenerational Water Communion worship celebration. Bring a vial of water that represents your summer travels and experiences, or from your kitchen sink, to represent what you did, what you felt, what you learned, over the summer.
We will blend the water in a common bowl, which later will be boiled and mixed with waters from many past years of water communion and kept for ritual uses throughout the year.
We also will bless and dedicate our RE facilitators and our children for the new program year.

Please note, there is no RE programming on this Sunday. However the nursery is open for free play and gentle care for children birth through 5.

The RE Program begins on September 14th with 1st hour offerings for all ages at 9:45-10:45am and 2nd hour programming for ages up to 13 during the 11am worship service.

The purpose of the Neshoba Unitarian Universalist Church is to provide a caring community that fosters spiritual growth through free thought and respect for personal beliefs. This church seeks the wisdom of many religious traditions and encourages the expression of our ideals in service to all people.

The mission of Neshoba Unitarian Universalist Church is to

 • Welcome diversity
 • Grow community
 • Nurture spirituality
 • Promote justice

Our Vision:

To be the church of choice in the Mid-South for people who seek the divine through free religious inquiry and inclusive social witness.

Our Affirmation of Covenant:

Love is the doctrine of this church, the quest for truth is its sacrament, and service is its prayer. To dwell together in peace, to seek knowledge in freedom, to serve human need, to the end that all souls shall grow into harmony with the Divine, thus do we covenant with each other and with God.
