Once again, the Neshoba Men’s Group will be going out in search of the elusive bald eagles and their fine feathered friends. Here are the details and the very early, flexible plan.

The date will be Saturday, Feb. 17. If the weather looks really bad, we’ll try on Feb. 24…all men are invited to join the trek.

We’ll meet at the church and carpool from there at about 8:30.

Our first stop will be at the Reelfoot Lake museum. Then, we’ll check out the raptor recovery facilities that are adjacent.

Next, we’ll have lunch at Boyette’s. It’s country cooking that includes catfish, hushpuppies, a variety of good vegetables, etc.

Then, we get into the cars and go bird hunting. Bill Siler will be our primary guide.

After a few hours of hunting, we head back to the church and should arrive by 6:00-ish.

Last year we had a great trip and saw lots of eagles, hawks, woodpeckers, pterodactyls, and a massive variety of ducks and geese.

You’ll need money for your lunch. Warm clothes, binoculars, and cameras are recommended.

This is a rough draft, and we are a Men’s Group, so don’t be surprised if things change somewhat.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to me, Victor Lendermon at [email protected] or call me at 901-382-9364.
